The castle here is in use as the barracks for the Guardia Civil. Other places of interest are the local church which has an interesting Mudejar Baptist chapel.

We carry on the N-403 until Torrijos, which was awarded to the Archbishop Jiménez de Rada during the 13th century for his part in the battle of Las Navas de Tolosa. In the outskirts of town you can visit the 14th century Castillo de Barciense. The town has a wealth of cultural heritage with the Colegiata del Santisimo Sacramento, which has numerous altarpieces from different eras, the Concepcionistas Franciscanas convent, constructed on the ruins of an ancient citadel, the La Caridad renaissance hospital and many interesting local houses.
