Routes around Formentera |
|
We begin our journey in Es Pujois, the most important tourist area on the island. Here you can enjoy the beautiful views and the striking white sand beaches such as the Cala de la Savina. We continue on our journey and arrive at Sa Savina, with its small yet picturesque port and Ca Na coast, the megalithic sepulchres and the ancient Pi D'es Cátala or Sa Capella de Santa Tanca Vella ancient defence towers.
In S'Estany D'es Prix we arrive at the lovely natural lake, a perfect spot for water sport lovers to enjoy. Following on from here we go to the capital of the island, Sant Francesc de Formentera, christened the last mediterranean paradise which emphasis on the impressive 18th century church fortress. In the direction of Cap de Barbaria you'll find one of the best areas for lovers of archaeology, with megalithic sepulchres dating back to 2000 AC as well as an 18th century watch tower. Now in the small fishing village of Es Caló the scenery becomes progressively more rugged, steep and rocky. We then finish our journey in La Mola, after a quick detour to the Migjorn sands, with the summit of Sa Talaiassa being the highest point of the island as well as the best place for panoramic views over the surrounding area. In La Mola you can enjoy the old 18th century mill and the lighthouse as described in the novels written by Julio Verne. |
